The Boy Scouts of America are opening the discussion to formally eliminate their national policy regarding sexual orientation. The decision to get rid of this long standing policy banning openly gay scouts and scout leaders is a huge step forward for the organization. If the policy is no longer in effect, local chapters would then be able to decide whether to admit gay scouts thus, enrolling members that mirror the sexually diverse composition of their commUNITY and modern America.
